Ek baar socho — tum dukaan pe khadey ho, QR scan kiya, ₹850 ka payment kiya. App ne loading screen dikhayi aur phir... kuch nahi. Na success, na fail. Screen pe ek "Payment Failed" message. Lekin bank se OTP bhi aaya tha. Paisa gaya kya?
Yeh dard India mein rozana 70 lakh baar hota hai. Aur zyada tar log ya toh baar baar same payment karte rehte hain, ya raat bhar sote nahi. Dono galat hai.
Is post mein wahi bataunga jo actually kaam aata hai — koi lecture nahi, sirf seedha guide ki yeh situation mein exactly kya karo.
Pehle ek baat samjho — paisa gaya nahi hai
Seriously. 99% cases mein paisa kahi nahi jaata. Ya toh tumhare account mein hi hai (transaction actually hua hi nahi), ya ek "holding" state mein hai jahan se woh automatically wapas aata hai.
UPI ek real-time system hai jo NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) chalata hai. Jab payment fail hota hai toh system khud check karta hai ki paisa receiver ko mila ya nahi — aur agar nahi mila toh reversal automatically trigger hota hai.
RBI ka rule clear hai: Agar payment fail ho aur paisa account se kat jaaye — bank ko 24 ghante ke andar (T+1 working day) automatically wapas karna padta hai. Yeh law hai, charity nahi.
Sabse pehle — apni screen pe kya dikh raha hai?
Teen situations hoti hain. Apni situation dekho:
❌ "Payment Failed" dikh raha hai
Yeh actually sabse achhi situation hai. Clear failure matlab system ne confirm kar diya — paisa gaya nahi, ya agar gaya toh reversal already trigger ho chuka hai.
⏳ "Pending" dikh raha hai
Yeh sabse anxiety wali situation hai. Transaction beech mein atka hua hai — na success, na fail. 30-60 minute mein usually resolve ho jaata hai.
✅ "Success" dikh raha hai
Paisa gaya — lekin receiver ko nahi mila? Receiver ka bank server issue ho sakta hai. Transaction ID share karo receiver se — unhe apne bank se check karwana hoga.

UPI app nahi, seedha bank app ya *99# se balance dekho. Agar balance same hai — paisa gaya hi nahi. Tension khatam.

UPI Ref Number, amount, time, receiver — sab screen mein aata hai. Yeh proof hai. Abhi screenshot karo — baad mein kaam aayega.

24 ghante wait karo — seriously
Zyada tar cases mein paisa 24 ghante mein automatically wapas aa jaata hai. Bank statement mein "UPI-REV" ya "UPI-RET" entry dikhegi — yeh reversal ka sign hai. Abhi dobara payment karne ki zaroorat nahi.

24 ghante baad bhi nahi aaya? App se complaint karo
GPay: Help & Feedback → Transaction Issue. PhonePe: Help → Payment Issues. Paytm: Help → Transaction Not Successful. UPI Ref Number ready rakhna — wahi maangenge.
⏳ Agar "Pending" dikha

30-60 minute wait karo — kuch mat karo
Yeh sabse important step hai. Network congestion ya bank server delay ki wajah se transaction processing mein time lag raha hai. Dobara payment kiya toh double payment ho sakti hai.

1 ghante baad bhi pending hai? Transaction cancel karo
UPI app History mein jaao, us transaction pe tap karo, "Cancel" option aayega pending transactions pe. Agar cancel ka option nahi aaya toh app support mein complaint karo.

Receiver ko inform karo — dobara payment nahi
Agar dukaan pe ho toh dukandaar ko status dikhaao — "Pending hai, 1 ghante mein resolve hoga." Samajhdar dukandaar wait karega. Agar woh insist kare toh doosra payment method use karo — cash ya doosra UPI app.
⚠️ Yeh mistake mat karo: Pending transaction hai aur tum doosra UPI app se dobara payment karte ho — ab dono transactions process ho sakte hain. Ek baar double payment ho gayi toh wapas paana aur time lagta hai.
Ek real example — Priya ki kahani
Priya, Pune: "Maine apni society ka maintenance ₹3,500 PhonePe se diya. App ne 'Payment Successful' bataya. Lekin society office wale bol rahe the ki unhe kuch nahi mila. Maine panic mein doosri app se phir diya — ₹3,500 aur. Baad mein pata chala ki pehla payment actually gaya tha, bas unka app refresh nahi hua tha. Ab ₹7,000 cut gaye the aur refund ke liye 5 din lage."
Yahan galti kya hui? Receiver ka confirmation liya bina dobara payment kar diya. Agar 10 minute wait karte aur transaction ID share karte toh yeh nahi hota.
Yeh sirf Priya ki story nahi hai. Yeh India mein rozana hazaron baar hota hai. Solution simple tha — wait karo aur UPI Ref Number share karo, dobara payment mat karo.
Agar 3 din baad bhi paisa nahi aaya — yeh karo
3 working days ke baad bhi account mein paisa nahi aaya? Ab escalate karna padega. Yeh escalation ladder follow karo — seedha NPCI mat jaao, pehle neeche se upar:
- UPI App Support: GPay / PhonePe / Paytm ke app mein Help section mein complaint raise karo. Transaction ID, screenshot, amount, date sab attach karo. App wale bank se directly baat karte hain.
- Apne Bank ka Customer Care: Agar app se resolve nahi hua — apne bank (jahan se paisa gaya) ka toll-free number call karo. "UPI dispute" bolna — woh specific team pe transfer kar denge. UPI Ref Number ready rakhna.
- Receiver ka Bank: Agar paisa receiver ke bank mein atka hai — receiver ko kehna ki apne bank se "UPI credit missing" complaint kare. Dono bank milke issue resolve karte hain.
- NPCI Online Complaint: npci.org.in pe jaao → 'What We Do' → UPI → 'Dispute Redressal Mechanism'. Online form bharо. NPCI directly banks ko instruction deta hai.
- RBI Banking Ombudsman (last resort): Agar 30 din mein kuch nahi hua — cms.rbi.org.in pe complaint karo. Yeh India mein highest banking complaint authority hai.
